John S. Orzell, 79, of Bristol, husband of Margaret (Radaskiewicz) Orzell, died on Friday June 29, 2007 at Bristol Hospital.
John was born in Ira, VT on March 30, 1928 and was a son of the late John and Antoinette (Dydo) Orzell.
A longtime Bristol resident, he worked at Marlin Rockwell for 35 years and then at Hartford Hospital before retiring. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and was an avid NASCAR racing fan of Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed Polka dancing and going to McDonald’s to chat with his buddies. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Bristol.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Orzell is survived by two sons and daughters in law, John and Beth Orzell of Hebron and Joseph and Barbara Orzell of Bristol; a daughter and son in law, Maggie and Tim Roy of Bristol; four sisters, Mary Stafford of Sarasota Springs, FL, Helen Konopka of Bristol, Judy Sapinski of Mechanicsville, NY, and Theresa Grabowski of West Rutland, VT; a brother, Stanley Orzell of Bristol; mother in-law, Mary Radaskiewicz of Bristol five grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Alice Pencikowski and a brother, Frank Orzell.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday (July 3, 2007) at 10:30 AM from Funk Funeral Home 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. |
